Our Mission: Make Shoe Hygiene a Daily Home Habit

Blueroca exists to improve everyday home hygiene by helping stop shoe odour and bacteria at the door — before shoes become part of your floors, entryways and daily routine.

We started with a simple realisation: we disinfect our hands every day, but rarely think about disinfecting the shoes that move through work, schools, gyms, public floors and back home.

For a healthcare professional coming home to a newborn, that gap was impossible to ignore. Existing shoe sprays focused on masking odour, not science-backed disinfection made for real daily life.

So we created Shoe Defence — a plant-based, purpose-built shoe deodoriser and disinfectant designed to target odour-causing bacteria, disinfect footwear surfaces, dry fast, leave no residue, and fit easily into modern home routines.

The Beginning of Blueroca

Blueroca started with one overlooked habit: shoes move through public floors, gyms, schools and workplaces, then come straight back into our homes.

Becoming parents changed how we looked at everyday hygiene. Shoes were no longer “just shoes” — they were the one thing moving through public floors, gyms, workplaces and streets before coming back near our child’s floor space.

That realisation became Blueroca: a simple daily shoe hygiene habit to help deodorise inside, disinfect outside, and stop shoe odour and bacteria at the door.

Built Through Research, Not Guesswork

We didn’t rush Shoe Defence to market. More than a year of formulation, material checks and performance testing went into creating a shoe deodoriser and disinfectant that could fit into real daily routines.

The goal was simple: fast shoe disinfection, odour control at the source, quick drying, no sticky residue, and suitability for common tested footwear materials — so shoe hygiene could become an easy habit, not another cleaning chore.
